15 Affirmations For Trust & Guidance
Listen…
Learning to trust the journey prepared ahead of you is hard. I’m currently at this space in life, where I’m learning to navigate through a number of ambivalent feelings. I’m thankful, yet unsatisfied. Craving a necessary change, yet settled with where I am. Willingly ready to take a risk, yet reserved towards what the sacrifice may be. And a number of other feelings to add to that list. But, what these feelings mostly reveal to me, is that I struggle with being in control of things. And if I’m being honest, not being able to control the outcome of things around me…terrifies me.
Simultaneously, knowing this, pushes me to understand that I can, and that it is ok to, hold space for conflicting feelings. It’s also a reminder to keep the truth at the forefront of my mind—Romans 8:28—that all things are working together for my good.
I know what it feels like to give your all to a job that you don’t exactly love, while making ends meet, aka doing what’s necessary (I work in the healthcare field. Everything is urgent. Read: always). I know what it feels like to meet the needs of others (whether in personal/romantic relationships or work place responsibilities) before your own. I also know what it feels like to invest so much energy and time into someone else’s dream, over your own.
I know how demoralizing it can feel, and how it can challenge what you carry. To the point where you start giving everything else around you what’s left of you. I can first-handedly say, it becomes so routine, it creates comfort and stagnancy—because it’s what you can control. You begin to settle into the mundane, when deep in your heart you know (and have seen) that there is more for you.
I’m here to confirm that there is more for you. Even if it takes you a little longer to get there. There is more. When you remove your hand, your need to control, and/or your need to have everything figured out, you make room for God’s plan to prevail (and it’s going to). God’s plan doesn’t have to make sense to you, just know that what He has in store for you, is yours. And it is soooooo good for you.
So, I as I’m writing to you—loved one—I’m speaking to and affirming myself—God is in control.
This is for me this is for you this for us.
