Every Beautiful Thing—No. 2

It’s been a while. Life has been happening—quickly. But, I’ve still been finding time to lean into the sweet moments. No longer postponing my joy. So, here is Tuesday’s Joy.

  1. Knocking tasks off of my morning/evening routine checklists.
Being able to create (or re-establish) a morning/evening routine has been a joy in itself. I haven’t been incorporating as much structure as I would like to lately. Just was feeling a more ‘go with the flow’ vibe, but that does not work for me lol. Spontaneity will win any other time. But, my morning routine must first be done to have a productive day. I downloaded this app to help with my routine and it has been extremely helpful. I have linked it here for your convenience. One of my favorite things about the app, is that it includes end-of-day reflections to track your progress—super dope. Over the past few days, completing small tasks like; drinking more water, taking my vitamins, journaling, getting outside, exercising, etc. ensures my day runs smoothly. Small wins feel so good.

  2. Hugging my mom this morning & the joy in her smile. The “Hey, babe! Have a good day. Insert hug & cheek kiss.” There’s just something about her joy that is contagious. And I took it all in.

  3. Prayer time during a quiet morning drive. I took this time just to communicate my heart with God. A good drive & a long shower have easily become a staple of my alone time. Remaining thankful for the intimate moments spent. Thankful for the spaces within me that God is filling with His love. Thankful for the learning. Thankful for my friends, family, and loved ones. Thankful for the growing. Thankful for His generosity each and everyday.

  4. Self-awareness need I say more? Self-reflection & awareness is VITAL for any amount of growth. It’s in self-awareness that I’m able to say ‘this doesn’t serve you’. Acknowledging where I’ve been wrong, (even in my stubbornness—cause, being wrong doesn’t feel good. But, growth is the goal, right? Right.), knowing in what areas I need to improve, habits I need to unlearn, making room for grace in my learning, holding myself accountable to be a better person, and ACTIVELY doing better is the ultimate flex. Self-awareness will always be good for you. Get into it. Better yet, get you a journal and get into you.

  5. And lastly, disciplining myself to make healthier choices. Again, need I say more? I just want everything to be healthy—body, mind, spirit, and soul.

If you feel me, do what adds goodness to these areas of your life. Fuel your body with healthier options - healthier food, uplifting music, genuine people, new surroundings, comedic/informative podcasts, dope experiences—all of it. create it if you must. Be healthy. Be joyous.

this is what joy is made of.

this is for you, for me, for us. Be easy. Love on.
